Disposal service for 3,000 Swedish armed forces' vehicles
FMV were tasked by the Swedish Government to carry out a large down sizing programme of their military capability. Traditionally equipment was scrapped at significant cost to the Swedish taxpayer. This was a totally new way for FMV to dispose of their surplus vehicles and equipment. Leavesley International, with its extensive experience and expertise gained from working with the UK MoD, assisted FMV in setting up the disposal programme and procedures. Leavesley International carried out the first phase of a five year programme. The vehicles were located at military depots throughout Sweden. Working closely with depot staff and employing local companies and sub-contractors to assist, the contract was completed in a compliant and timely manner whilst conforming to strict contractual and environmental criteria. We have also established storage depots within Sweden, maintained by local sub-contractors.
